Outside a jeweler's stood a hansom-quite a curiosity in these days of motors-and, as Jane glided past, the horse shied. I have never seen an animal so terrified. Sax Rohmer is most well known for his Fu Manchu books which were immensely popular, with many being made into movies. Rohmer wrote many other books other than Fu Manchu, however, many of which involved an investigator named Paul Harley.

Some of these popular novels include Brood of the Witch Queen, Bat Wing and Fire-Tongue. Fire Tongue is actually a sequel to Bat Wing, but it is not necessary to read them in order to get full enjoyment out of each story.

What is Fire-Tongue? Is it a prophesied Zoroastrian god? Or is it the name of a secret cult? Or is that the code name for a code-blooded assassin? Maybe it refers to all of them ... but you'll have to read the book to find out.

Please note that this book was written many years ago, and there may be some sexist or racist attitudes within the writing that may be offensive to some.
